CloudFest 2018: what is the potential with IBM for ISVs and CSPs?

Working with IBM CloudFest

Europa-Park Rust, Germany, was the venue for this year’s CloudFest, the World’s number-one Cloud conference. 7,000 plus attendees embraced the opportunity to listen to visionaries from the Cloud industry explain the elements you need to succeed in the business.

Marisa De Peralta, IBM Global Cloud Service Programme Director, focused on how IBM Storage can support a business in multiple ways. As an example, she said, it supports “your ability to do tiered pricing, depending on the circumstances that you offer – hot data: Flash Storage, cold data: traditional disks or tape – and charge your pricing accordingly.”

An IBM Storage utility offering allows a business to pay as it grows, explained David Cremese, responsible for IBM’s file and Object Storage in Europe, by effectively “minimising their upfront cash requirement to allow them to spend on technology as they collect more revenue.” He also added that “Spectrum Storage Suite is the way for CSPs and MSPs to have access to our entire panel of software-defined storage technologies with a single product and protect their investment forever.”

So what is the potential with IBM for ISVs and CSPs?

According to Marisa De Peralta, “IBM is extremely focused on supporting the Cloud Service Providers today, and we have a plethora of services and support; our technologies are very important to them. We have infrastructure that can build the foundation for Cloud Service Providers and from there they have a stable foundation from which they can grow.”
