As the world’s leading research and advisory company, Gartner is regarded by enterprises worldwide as a trusted and objective resource for indispensable insights into business procedures and objectives.
Each year, it launches an updated report on Cloud Infrastructure as a Service, taking into account, recording, and evaluating all recent developments and experiences.
And among leading cloud providers, IBM Cloud has the highest customer rating with 4.7 stars out of a possible 5.
75% of users awarded IBM Cloud the full five stars, while 98% would recommend it to friends and associates.
IBM Cloud user experience
Of course, IBM cloud did sometimes receive 4 stars rather than 5: so let’s see what one such user had to say about their experience.
“Using this tool we can deploy our applications most securely and efficiently in cloud…Because they have a variety of options for web hosting process, it provides all the platform processes like infrastructure as a service, system as a service, and platform as a service. Based on the enterprise need we can easily purchase server and database from there with minimal price.”
Another, granting IBM Cloud 5 stars, said:
“IBM Cloud for absolute file storage and security…the establishment of IBM Cloud has ensured that the company’s sensitive data and information has a close monitoring, and whenever the authorised professionals want to hear it, there are no setbacks which might occur.”

Looking at the findings in more detail, IBM Cloud was rated at around 4.7 in all major areas of experience and utilisation including:

- Understanding an organisation’s needs
- Integration and Deployment
- Timely and complete response to questions
- Service and Support
- Pricing and contract flexibility
- Product Capabilities
“We worried so much about compliance, until we found IBM Cloud,” another reviewed user confessed, going on to more fully explain that, “IBM Cloud has met all requirements such as financial viability. There is all the advice that users require from IBM Cloud, and hence the problems of knowing which way or route to take is not hard.”
The right answers to common challenges
The Gartner report also sets out typical answers to specific, important questions that IBM Cloud users were asked.
For instance, it lists respondents’ replies on being asked, Why did you purchase this product or service?
