Addressing elderly care with IBM AI and Internet of Things

UK startup Karantis360 wanted to address the many challenges involving care for the elderly. It sought to introduce greater accountability and efficiency, empowering care givers to work effectively and their clients to live independently.
Karantis360 developed a mobile application to support care givers with the information they need to provide excellent service and to connect families with their elderly relatives. However, they struggled to find a cloud services provider that could adequately support the required highly secure usage model.
Karantis360 teamed up with IBM to migrate its existing mobile application to the IBM Cloud Platform. The IBM team connected with business partner EnOcean GmbH, an IoT specialist, to introduce new augmented intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things capabilities to Karantis360’s solution.
Moving to IBM Cloud ensured that Karantis360 had the flexibility to be adopted on multiple devices and operating systems, while the security provided essential safeguarding of client and customer data. Integrating their application with IBM technology resulted in enhanced transparency and productivity, and translated into better care, enabling providers to strengthen their service to those who need it.
